Salvation, which is an act of God, is complete in Jesus Christ.
Not only is salvation complete in Jesus Christ, but coming to Christ for salvation may be as simple as ABC.
A. Admit that you are a sinner, and that you cannot save yourself. "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." "There is none righteous, no not one." "All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned each one to his own way." Agree with God's Word, God's standards, that you don't measure up to them in thought, word or deed.
B. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved." "Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." How do you believe in Jesus? You accept the truth about Him, that He is the Son of God, that He died in your place on the cross and paid for your sins, and He arose from the dead after 3 days.
C. Confess Jesus to be your Lord, Master and Savior. "If you will confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord', and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
saved.' (Romans 10:9)
Let someone know!
In becoming a follower of the Messiah (Christ), Jesus, one of the steps you must take is confession. Now, most people have a negative idea about confession, which is admitting that you've done wrong. In itself that is not a negative, as we are supposed to confess any sin we commit to the Lord, so we might receive His forgiveness (see 1 John 1:9). However, another very important aspect of confession is speaking out your faith in Jesus as Lord, and your faith in His resurrection from the dead by the Father. Jesus said if we confess Him before men, He'll confess us before His father and the holy angels. You can make your first confession right here! Let us know if you have committed your life to Christ and have received the gift of eternal life.
Worship!
In order for you to grow in your relationship with Jesus, you need to find and become part of a good church family. Which raises the question, "What is a good church?" A good church is a church that believes the whole Bible to be the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God; a church that accepts the Bible as their rule of faith and practice; a church trying to live out the Word of God in the lives of its people; a church that loves all people, as we're taught to love all people; a church that is missions minded, both at home and abroad; a church that is accountable, open and honest in the way it deals with finances. That is the kind of church that Belgrade Christian Assembly aspires to be.
Read the Bible - the Word of God!
If you want to grow in your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, you must read and obey the Word of God. Note, in this passage from 1 Peter 1:22 - 2:3, that it is through the Word of God that we are saved and born-again, and it is through the Word of God that we grow!
Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart, for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.
For, "ALL FLESH IS LIKE GRASS,
AND ALL ITS GLORY LIKE THE FLOWER OF GRASS.
THE GRASS WITHERS,
AND THE FLOWER FALLS OFF,
BUT THE WORD OF THE LORD ENDURES FOREVER."
And this is the word which was preached to you.
Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander, like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation, if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.
Prayer - Talking to your heavenly Father and your Savior the Lord Jesus Christ!
Prayer is absolutely essential and crucial for you to grow in your relationship with God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Simply, prayer is talking to and listening to the Lord. It's not one-way, but two -way, that is a conversation. "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6)
Fellowship - Gathering with the Lord's Forever Family!
One of the signs of the true (genuine) new believer/follower of the Lord Jesus Christ is that they want to get together with others who believe as they do. Jesus said, "By this shall all men know you are my disciples, by the love you have for one another." 1 John 1:7 says, "If we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." And from Hebrews 10:24, "not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near." Seek out a church where the Word of God is preached, where people are living the Word of God, and they love one another.
