A Time to Believe…

June 19th, 2010

Jesus said, “What things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that you  receive them and you shall have them.” (Mark 11:24)  Yesterday, June 18, the last of the petitions for the Human Life Amendment, CI-102 were turned in.  Now it’s a period of waiting, but not a time to do nothing!  Please ask the Lord for the 50,000 signatures, and believe that He will “…do exceeding, abundantly above all that we can ask or think.” (Ephesians 3:19)  Make this 1 month period while the signatures are being counted an intense period of waiting on the Lord, so that our strength might be renewed, and we might mount up with wings like eagles!

Human Life Amendment

June 13th, 2010

We are now in the final week, only 5 days left, of gathering signatures for CI-102, the Human Life Amendment.  The deadline for turning in signatures to the County Clerk’s offices is Friday, June 18.  I am encouraging people to ask and think in Jesus’ name, of 50,000 signatures.  And exercise your faith that according to Ephesisans 3:19-20, our Heavenly Father will do exceeding abundantly above all that we have asked or thought!  To Him be all the glory in Jesus’ name!

D-Day 6 June 2010

June 6th, 2010

We’re told that the D of D-Day didn’t really stand for anything, except maybe for day.  But I think we can look at the results of D-Day–the invasion of Europe–as the start of the conclusion of the end of the Third Reich, Nazi Germany, and the Holocaust.  Today is working out to be a great day for the Human Life Amendment in Montana.  Almost 1/3 of the people from Belgrade Christian Assembly, where I’m the pastor, were gone this morning!  And I’m happy about it!  Why?  Because they were at Grace Bible church collecting signatures for CI-102, the Human Life Amendment.  And successful they were, gathering over 300 signatures with more to be gotten this evening.  What a blessing to have churches working together for the protection of the unborn, and the slaying of the abortion monster!  It’s not too late for any Montanans to sign a petition, or to get involved in gathering signatures.  The deadline is June 18.  For all the information you’ll need, please go to www.montanaprolifecoalition.org.

Human Life Amendments

May 12th, 2010

There are already Human Life Amendments in 3 states that have gathered enough petition signatures to get on their November ballot. Please pray with us, and, if you’re in Montana, work with us, that we might get it on our ballot, too. Our deadline for gathering signatures is in June.

National Day of Prayer – May 6, 2010 U.S.A.

May 6th, 2010

We had a time of blessed prayer in the front of the Belgrade, Montana, City offices from 11:45 – 12:45. The weather was anything but nice. It hovered around freezing, strong wind whipping the flags and making lots of noise, and occasional snow flurries. But, in spite of this, there was a fairly good turnout of both young, old, and in between. Our theme was once again from 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land.” Lord! May this please be true for us and our nation!

Gallatin Valley Right to Life Oratory Contest

February 26th, 2010

Who will speak up for those too weak, too small, and unable to speak up for themselves?  When it comes to the unborn/pre-born children here in the Gallatin Valley, there are a number of teenagers speaking up for them, and against the evils of abortion.  Monday, February 22, they presented speeches concerning how precious life is, the question of whether abortion is logical/reasonable, a question of In Vitro Fertilization and its ramifications, life versus rights, and a refutation of the argument that the baby is a parasite that can be discarded.  The teens were Middle school, Junior & Senior High age.  They were sincere, impassioned and convincing.  Opportunities are already coming in for them to speak at some local schools.  Please pray that the Lord would use these pro-life teens to educate, counsel, change minds and accomplish His will for the unborn/pre-born.

2010 Week of Prayer

January 10th, 2010

January 3-9 we held our 3rd annual Week of Prayer at Belgrade Christian Assembly.  But the tradition goes back much further than that, as we held a week of prayer in both of the previous churches where I pastored.  Many churches throughout the Assemblies of God, and undoubtedly many other churches observe a week of prayer to mark the beginning of the new year.  One thing we prayed for was that prayer and worship would grow in our lives throughout the new year.  How is your prayer life?  Do you worship the Lord?  Jesus taught, “Men ought always to pray and not to faint.”  Paul said, “Pray without ceasing;” and, “Be careful for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God.  And the peace of God which passes understanding, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”  Let us all strive to be men and women, boys and girls of prayer and worship.  Jesus is our example in this, prayer, as in every other good thing to which we aspire.

Merry Christmas!

December 24th, 2009

Why do we give this greeting?  Because Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God, was born of the virgin Mary, some 2000 plus years ago.  A young man asked me last night if December 25 was the actual date of His birth, since he had heard from some that it was not.  I shared with him that there have been great scholars, e.g., Alfred Edersheim, The Life & Times of Jesus the Messiah, who have made a great case for December 25 being the actual date.  Most importantly, however, is the fact of the Incarnation: God became man!  Why did He do it?  So He could be our Messiah, Redeemer, Saviour from our sins.  “He became sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” (2 Cor. 5:21) Although it’s hard to comprehend God’s love, believe Him, and receive Him into your heart and life.  What will happen if you do?  “But as many as received Him, to them gave He the right to become children of God…” (John 1:12). Jesus also said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock.  If any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and sup with him and he with Me.” (Rev. 3:20). Why don’t you invite Christ in today?  Right now?  Don’t let anything hold you back.  You’ll never regret that decision.
