Some ballot initiatives passed, some were defeated. How are you going to measure the results? What you should have been doing before election day, what you should be doing at the present and continuing into the future, if you are a believer in Jesus Christ, is being in diligent prayer to our sovereign Lord and heavenly Father, that the will of God will be carried out in our nation, our state, our local communities, and in our own lives. If you would continue to be a follower of Jesus, then today, “…deny yourself, take up the cross, and follow [Him].”
By johnfg, on October 21st, 2012 If you’re a believer in Jesus Christ, then you are admonished in the Word of God, to: “First of all, of primary importance, offer up supplications, prayers, intercessions, giving of thanks, on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, in order that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.” (1 Tim. 2:1-2) Doesn’t matter if you agree/disagree with their policies and politics. Pray for the leaders of your nation!

By johnfg, on June 30th, 2012 It will be interesting to see how the elected officials who pushed for this, who voted for this, who promoted this monstrosity as *not* being a tax, will now explain how SCOTUS allowed it to stand, only because it *is* a tax. It could not stand under the commerce clause, but with the power of the congress to tax, it becomes the largest tax increase in the history of the U.S.A.
I say it’s time for a real change, a change of elected officials. The first Tuesday in November can’t get here soon enough.
Update: the spinmeisters are already at work trying to convince the American people that this is *not* a tax. Sure wish SCOTUS had listened to the president and the democrats in congress insisting that this is not a tax. Maybe then the vote would have gone against obamacare for being unconstitutional, which it actually is.

It was not allowed to get to where it was needed. But, praise the Lord, He has answered prayer and the food was released and is feeding the hungry.

Here’s the logical end that the pro-abortion, pro-choice mentality of this world is taking us. We who are believers in Jesus Christ, and/or who believe in the sanctity of every human life, whether conceived by rape, incest or is endangering the life of the mother, should ask ourselves, “If infanticide becomes legal and acceptable and as prevalent as abortion is now, would we do any more about it?” Again, ask yourself, “What’s the difference between abortion and infanticide?” Answer, nothing, except that the infant is outside of the womb.

I read a fascinating story in the Jerusalem Post this morning and it gave me fresh hope for the nation of Israel. ”Taking a page out of David Ben-Gurion and Menachem Begin’s playbook, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will begin hosting a regular Bible study group in his official residence for researchers, public officials and invited guests, “reports the Post. “Netanyahu announced the establishment of the study circle on Friday at a ceremony marking 30 days since the passing of his father-in-law, Shmuel Ben-Artzi. The study group will be named after Ben-Artzi, a noted poet and Bible teacher. Both Ben-Gurion and Begin, when they each served as prime minister, hosted regular Bible study groups. Netanyahu said he was establishing the class to perpetuate love of the Bible.” Interestingly, in recent years Netanyahu — who has never described himself as a religious person — appears to have been developing a deeper interest in Bible study. In January 2010, Netanyahu delivered an address at Auschwitz saying the prophecies of Ezekiel 37 have come to pass in our lifetimes. In March of 2010, Netanyahu’s son, Avner, won the National Bible Quiz in Israel. In July 2010, Netanyahu told Larry King that he likes to study the Bible on Saturday mornings with his son, Avner.
These are excellent steps by the Prime Minister, and he should be commended for them. Indeed, let us pray that the study of the Word of God has a powerful, personal impact on the Prime Minister and his family and each of his colleagues and guests. Let’s pray that many Israelis would follow the Prime Minister’s lead and begin reading the Holy Scriptures again, and that Bible studies in people’s homes would spring up all over the Land of Israel. Let’s pray that pray that more and more Israelis would develop a new and deeper curiosity about Bible prophecy, both the dramatic prophecies in the Scriptures that have already been fulfilled, and those that will come to pass soon, including the all-important prophecies about the Messiah.
Such a national reawakening to the importance of the Scriptures has happened before in Israel’s history. Remember men like Nehemiah, Ezra, Josiah, and Joel? These were beloved governors, priests, kings and prophets whom the Lord used to turn the Jewish people back to the Scriptures and the need for national and individual prayer, fasting and repentance. One of my favorite examples is found in 2 Kings 22. I’d encourage you to read it afresh, for it is the remarkable story of King Josiah.

By johnfg, on November 6th, 2011 Tim Tebow and Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani are very different and yet very similar. They both are on a public stage, almost a world stage for their faith in Christ Jesus. Pray for them that they will both stay true to Jesus, no matter what the cost. And pray that they will be able to resist those who are trying to, in the case of Pastor Nadarkhani, force him to convert to Islam; and in the case of Tim Tebow, trying to get him to lash out in anger and compromise. I admire them both for their steadfast commitment to the Lord.
By johnfg, on January 15th, 2011 What does this day mean to you? Well, to over 50,000,000 preborn babies it has meant death! And for many of them, horrible death. Death by dismemberment. Death by burning (as in saline abortions). Death by having their skulls crushed (as in partial-birth abortion). Death by neglect, when they are delivered still alive, and are then left to expire due to cold, thirst, and starvation. There have been more babies killed by abortion than all the casualties of World War II. That’s the significance of January 22, 1973.
What will you do on January 22, 2011? Pray! Pray in Jesus’ name that all abortion will end and Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton will be overturned. March! If there’s a March for Life anywhere around you, do your best got get to it and participate in taking a stand for life. Counsel! Find out if and where there’s an abortion clinic in your area. Go there to pray and counsel, and, if possible, save a life!

And we are told in the Bible, "It is He that made us and not we ourselves. We are His people and the sheep of His pasture." Let's not allow ourselves to fall below the level of animals as did the people of God addressed in Isaiah 1: "The ox knows his owner, and the donkey its master's manger; but Israel does not know, my people do not consider." Take time to thank the Lord for all that He does. And if you have not yet received the gift of eternal life, you may do so by accepting it as a free gift paid for by the precious blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God. "As many as received Him, to them He gave the power to become sons of God"

What’s the Real Reason for U.N. or Nato Intervention? Both the U.S.A. and others of the western "powers" along with the U.N., have stated that the reason for their resolution and their intervention in Libya was for humanitarian reasons. Really? Is there a greater premium on Libyan lives than elsewhere? What about at present in the Ivory Coast where over 1,000 have been found shot or hacked to death with machetes? What about the tragedies in the Sudan, in Rwanda, and in so many other countries? I don't claim to know what the real motive of the U.S.A. and these others is, but it certainly doesn't seem humanitarian to neglect such glaring atrocities as I've mentioned. At least as believer in Jesus, let us pray for all these places, their leaders, the people, and especially pray that the leaders of the free nations will truly help those who need their help.
Unconstitutional The president and his attorney general decided, behind closed doors, that the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which was signed into law in 1996 by President Bill Clinton, was not constitutional. Therefore, they concluded that the federal government would no longer enforce it.
I have news for them. What the president did is what's unconstitutional, as it is a usurpation of the powers belonging to one of the other branches of government. It is the U.S. Supreme Court that has the authority to call a law, or define a right, as being constitutional or not. It's not the executive, or not the legislative branch of government that can decide this.
Clearly, our president needs to have this pointed out.
